DIS­AP­POINT­ING 12th in­stal­ment in the Mar­vel Comics fran­chise. Nine years have passed since the events of X-Men: Apoca­lypse when Pro­fes­sor X (James McAvoy) and Mag­neto (Michael Fass­ben­der) un­locked the tele­ki­netic pow­ers of Jean Grey (So­phie Turner). The X-Men are called into ac­tion to res­cue the stricken crew of Space Shut­tle En­deav­our. Mys­tique (Jen­nifer Lawrence) leads the mis­sion, dur­ing which Jean ab­sorbs danger­ous lev­els of en­ergy. The ex­pe­ri­ence un­leashes years of pent-up rage and frus­tra­tion which a shape-shift­ing alien (Jes­sica Chas­tain) ex­ploits to re­build her species’ fallen em­pire.
