Debenhams building put up for sale
THE former Debenhams store in Bangor has been put for sale – four months after planning permission was secured to transform the site.
Planning officers at Gwynedd council in June approved plans to convert the upper floors of the former department store on Bangor High Street into five self-contained apartments.
Under the scheme, put forward by developer John Sutton from Manchester, the ground floor would be renovated with new shop fronts.
Now the site has been put up for sale by the owner with Williams and Goodwin estate agents.
The owner did not want to comment further on the plans to sell.
It is on the market for £295,000.
The high street site has been occupied by a range of shops since the chain moved to the Menai Centre in 2008.
A larger scheme of 49 student flats was rejected in 2015 as being an over-development of the site.
