Bodedern edge to FAW Trophy win

BODEDERN are through to the next round of the FAW Trophy after a hat-trick from Aidan Clark saw them beat Llanberis 4-2.

Dean Redmond was also on target for the Anglesey side with Ifan Mansoor and Owain Jones replying for the Darans.

Welsh Alliance Division Two side Gaerwen needed extra time to see off Brickfield Rangers.

It was 2-2 after 90 minutes, Arwel Williams and Iwan Williams on the mark for the islanders, Kieran Turton and Ben Roberts for the Welsh National League Premier side but in the added half-hour, Callum Hughes and Sion Childes made it 4-2.

Menai Bridge Tigers were also in extratime action but were beaten 3-1 by Welsh National League Division One side Lex.

Matt Bennett opened the scoring for the Lawmen but the Tigers equalised with a 30 yard thunderbol­t from Callum Davidson to force another half-hour of action.

Zack Davies put Lex back in front from the spot before Bennett got his second late on.

Gwalchmai are joint top of Division Two after a brace from Marc Evans and another from Gethin Davies saw them beat Mochdre Sports 3-1 with Chris Lloyd replying for the visitors.

Marquis Holland, Kian Abbott, Gwyndaf Hughes, Rees Roberts and Sion Jones all scored for Pentraeth as they defeated Llandudno Junction 5-3, Liam Jones, Curtis Cooper and David Algieri for the Railwaymen.

In the Huws Gray Megan Cup second round, Holyhead Hotspur Reserves won 4-1 at Mountain Rangers.

Deian Parry (2), Kurt Williams and Casey Gregg scored the goals with Osian Hughes Jones scoring the Rangers’ consolatio­n.

In the Lucas Oil Cup first round, Arriva Bangor hammered Llandegfan 8-2 with Scott Hughes (4), Dion Williams (3) and Sammy Williams on target as Paul Jones and Dale Rowlands scored for Llandegfan.

Cemaes Bay thrashed Holyhead Town Reserves 9-0 with Lewis Connor grabbing four goals, Luke McKittrick, Dan Jones, Steve Whittaker, Nick Owen and Ryan Folksman also scoring.

Cai Evans (2), Elliot Jones and Jack Davies were on the mark as Llanfairpw­ll won 4-3 at Bodorgan, Luke Alllaway, Iwan Thomas and Aaron Owen for the hosts.

In the Anglesey League, Cefni defeated Pentraeth Reserves 2-0 with goals from Ben Wright and Graham Jones.
