Doggie day out at Bodnant

-

BRING your four-legged friends to Bodnant Garden on Saturday, November 16 for a day of fun dedicated to dogs.

Whether you’re a regular visitor or coming for the first time, there’s a warm welcome for all at the National Trust garden near Conwy.

Watch dog agility displays, meet the members and pets of local dog groups, and enter your pooch in a canine costume competition.

Activities will be running all day from 11am to 3pm on the Old Park meadow and there will be refreshments for everyone… including doggy snacks.

William Greenwood, General Manager at Bodnant Garden, says: “We’re having a day of celebration to mark five years of dog walking at Bodnant Garden and to say a big thank you to our dog walkers who come throughout the year.

“We have a great community of dog walkers who come to Bodnant Garden rain and shine. We really appreciate their support, which helps us to look after this special garden for everyone.”

Showing off their skills at Bodnant Dogfest will be the PODS Flyball team; visitors will also be able to meet members of the Cinnamon Trust, Hector’s Greyhound Rescue, Skylor’s Animal Rescue, Conwy County Borough Council, Dog AID and more.

A fabulous bag of doggie treats and accessories will be up for grabs for the winner of the Best Dressed Dog Competition, which will be judged at 2pm.

Refreshments will be available in the Old Park – hot drinks, sandwiches and cakes, plus water and doggy biscuits.

William Greenwood says: “All we ask is that walkers stick to the paths, use short (not extendable) leads and pick up after your pets.

Short leads are available to borrow free of charge from the Visitor Welcome Centre when you arrive, along with poo bags.
