NORTH WALES WILDLIFE TRUST:

On Friday, November 22 at 7.30pm in St Cyngar’s Church Hall, Llangefni, the talk will be “Anglesey’s amazing arachnids”. the Trust’s very own “spiderman”, Richard Gallon, will cover some of Anglesey’s regional rarities and relate them to the value of habitats that we have on the island. SOROPTIMIS­TS: On Monday, Nov 25 Anglesey Soroptimis­ts, together with other SI Clubs will walk over the Menai Bridge at 8.30am to support the Internatio­nal Day for Eliminatio­n of Violence against Women which begins 16 days of activism against Gender-based violence. Thousands of women will be doing the same so If you wish to join us please meet at 8.15 at Waitrose and wear orange if you can.

ANGLESEY SOROPTIMIS­TS: Members came up trumps at the meeting on Nov14 with a range of items for the Nightstop bags for the homeless at Christmas. More are needed as there are a quite a number of rough sleepers in the area, both male and female who need our help. Kathleen spoke about the resolution­s at the AGM in Bournemout­h. The Toilet Twinning project has raised a further £145 to enable the branch to purchase another 2 toilets in rural communitie­s in countries across the world. Another 16 mastectomy cushions will be sent to Ysbty Gwynedd for those patients undergoing breast cancer treatment. A stall will also be held at the hospital on Fri, Dec 6 to raise funds for the President’s charities. On Nov 25 Mary Longworth will give a talk on birthing mothers in Lesotho and members will be walking over the Menai Bridge at 8.30am on the 25th to recognize the Internatio­nal Day for the Eliminatio­n of Violence against Women.
