SOROPTIMISTS: On Monday, Nov 25 Anglesey Soroptimists, together with other SI Clubs will walk over the Menai Bridge at 8.30am to support the International Day for Elimination of Violence against Women which begins 16 days of activism against Gender-based violence. Thousands of women will be doing the same so If you wish to join us please meet at 8.15 at Waitrose and wear orange if you can.
ANGLESEY SOROPTIMISTS: Members came up trumps at the meeting on Nov14 with a range of items for the Nightstop bags for the homeless at Christmas. More are needed as there are a quite a number of rough sleepers in the area, both male and female who need our help. Kathleen spoke about the resolutions at the AGM in Bournemouth. The Toilet Twinning project has raised a further £145 to enable the branch to purchase another 2 toilets in rural communities in countries across the world. Another 16 mastectomy cushions will be sent to Ysbty Gwynedd for those patients undergoing breast cancer treatment. A stall will also be held at the hospital on Fri, Dec 6 to raise funds for the President’s charities. On Nov 25 Mary Longworth will give a talk on birthing mothers in Lesotho and members will be walking over the Menai Bridge at 8.30am on the 25th to recognize the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
