CHRISTMAS PARTY FOR LEISURE CENTRE

-

THE Christmas Party event at Canolfan Beaumaris is destined to get everyone in the Festive Swing yet again this year.

This annual event to raise funds for the town’s Sports and Leisure Centre, – a Not for Profit Social Enterprise – is organised by Dr Steve MacVicar and his wife Shan. Yes, the very same Dr Steve MacVicar who earlier this year cycled from Istanbul to Anglesey to raise funds for St David’s Hospice and the Motor Neurone Disease Association, he’s a busy man.

Transferred to the town from the local council five years ago, Canolfan Beaumaris is managed by a board of volunteer directors and operated by a small committed staff with the assistance of local volunteers. Raising funds is an ongoing challenge for the centre as it strives to continue to provide much-needed recreational and social facilities for Beaumaris and Anglesey. The venue boasts a tiered seating staged theatre, full-sized sports hall, gym, gallery and extensive programme of fitness classes and social activities.

Live music is by Dr Jazz, the well-established splinter group from the international award-winning Beaumaris Brass Band, who certainly know how to get the party going with a swing. Their vast repertoire appeals to all tastes and never fails to get feet tapping and people dancing.

This popular event is once again being catered by The Bishopsgate Hotel, Beaumaris. Good food, great music, a fantastic venue and a worthy cause, sounds like an event too good to miss. Friday, November, 29. Tickets £32 each with tables seating 10 if you wish to book for a group party. Tickets are now limited, but for information or to book call 01248 811200 or email enquiries@canolfanbeaumaris.org. uk.
