Dance schools join cast of popular panto

-

ONE of the most popular and well known pantomimes opened at Rhyl Pavilion this week.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs tells the story of a beautiful and kindhearted princess who charms every creature in the kingdom except one – her wicked stepmother, the queen.

The queen has always seen herself as the most beautiful woman in the land, but when the Magic Mirror proclaims Snow White the fairest one of all,the jealous Queen orders her Huntsman to take Snow White into the forest and kill her.

As proof of her stepdaughter’s demise, the Queen demands that the huntsman return with Snow White’s heart in a jewelled box, however, the Huntsman cannot bring himself to kill Snow White.

He urges Snow White to run and never return, she flees into the forest and stumbles across an isolated cottage where she befriends the lovable seven dwarfs.

Meanwhile, the queen discovers Snow White is still alive when the mirror again answers that Snow White is the fairest in the land and reveals that the heart in the jewelled box is actually that of a pig.

Using a potion to disguise herself as an old hag, the queen creates a poisoned apple that will put whoever eats it into the “Sleeping Death”, a curse she learns can only be broken by “love’s first kiss”, but is certain Snow White will be buried alive.

Will Snow White manage to survive?

The cast is headed up by Sue Holderness (Only Fools and Horses / Still Open All Hours) who plays the role of the Wicked Queen.

She is joined by Andrew Agnew (CBeebies Balamory) who plays Muddles, and making a welcome return – Charles Burden is appearing in the glamorous role of Nursie.

There is a full supporting cast which includes two local talented dance schools, The Gay Harris Dancers and The North Wales School of Dance.
