ANGLESEY CENTRAL LIONS: Is a local service organisati­on, and registered charity that raises money, holds events, and assists in events. During 2015 it donated £3,400 to local worthy causes. AMLWCH SWIMMING CLUB: is the Para-Swimming Hub for Anglesey and seeks friendly, enthusiast­ic volunteers to support the club. The role of a volunteer will be to support children and young adults with varying disabiliti­es to fully participat­e in the sessions. No official qualificat­ions needed, just enthusiasm and reliabilit­y. Don’t worry if you don’t think you have the right experience or have not helped those with disabiliti­es before. The club will provide training and another volunteer will with you during your early sessions to give you support. AMLWCH SHOWSTOPPE­RS: Looking for a way to brighten a dreary January? Look no further than Amlwch Showstoppe­rs’ Annual Pantomime production. This year, their story tells the tale of Princess Aria, the Little Mermaid who lives under the sea with her best friend, Caesar the Crab and her father King Triton and her sisters. The Princess goes up to the surface and spies her first love, Prince Derek. Aria saves the Prince from drowning and longs to be with him but will the sea witch help her make her dreams come true? Showstoppe­rs perform a new adaption of a much loved story. Amlwch Showstoppe­rs perform ‘The Little Mermaid’ by Warren McWillams at Amlwch Memorial Hall, on Friday, January 24 at 7pm, Saturday, January 25 at 5pm and Sunday, January 26 at 2pm. BLOOD CANCER: Lymphoma Action, the only charity in the UK dedicated to this particular type of blood cancer, is launching a support group in Bangor on Thursday February 6 from 2pm to 3.30pm. The group will meet on the first Thursday of alternate months at Cae Garnedd, Penrhosgar­nedd. The support group is open to anyone affected by a diagnosis of lymphoma, myeloma, leukaemia or any other blood cancer. You don’t have to be the person diagnosed in order to attend; friends, family members and colleagues of people with blood cancer are all welcome.
