Weekend of finest Jazz entertainers at a seaside farm

-

LLANDUDNO’S new festival, Jazz on the Farm will be taking place from Friday, June 19 to Sunday, June 21, at the Bodafon Farm Park, Llandudno, with the main stage line-up now confirmed.

This new event is a worthy successor to the much-loved Llandudno Jazz Festival which preceded it for five glorious years!

The festival is supported by Geoff Burke, former Director of the LJF and honours the memory of the much-loved and missed late co-founder Ed Burke, and offers a great weekend of live jazz on the main stage and a variety of music is promised on the fringe stage for all tastes.

The fringe events will include a special tribute gig for Ed on Thursday, June 18 at Tiffany Cafe&Bar as with last year’s festival. More details will follow.

The festival will take place again at Bodafon Farm Park from Friday, June 19 right through to Sunday night, June 21 as before with the brilliant Neil Yates, previously Artistic Director of the LJF, now programming this new festival.

The programme will continue to appeal to fans of Modern Jazz, presenting the best UK and international jazz artistes in a relaxed and atmospheric setting.

Jazz On The Farm will continue to bring unique jazz projects featuring all our favourite players, as well as offering excellent food, ales and wines, ample nearby hotel accommodation, camping and caravanning facilities on site, and stunning views across Llandudno Bay to The Great Orme.

The JOTF will see many favourite jazz musicians, and will include talented new faces, many from North Wales, that you wouldn’t have necessarily known about. They will be performing in some familiar, and some brand new line-ups.

With resident favourites like the Dave Newton Trio, Tony Kofi, Neil Yates, Art Themen, Sara Oschlag, Dean Masser and host Alan Barnes, and neverbefore seen projects and commissions, JOTF presents a diverse and compelling weekend of jazz.

Priority weekend passes, with reserved seating, and access to all events on the Main Stage and Stage B, can be ordered online on the festival website: https://www.jazzonthefarm. com/. Alternatively, for less dedicated fans, there are Stage B tickets, with entry from £15 adult (with family and OAP tickets also available). With these you can stay all day and enjoy the Mediterranean ambience of Bodafon Farm Park’s Upper Courtyard, with great music, food and drink.

The range of genres to which you’ll have access include Latin Jazz, Dixieland Jazz, Swing,

Blues, Gypsy Jazz, Fusion, Jazz singers, Bossa Nova, Boogie Woogie and Soul Jazz.

However, Stage B tickets don’t provide access to the events on the Main Stage.

For full details of the festival and its line-up, to order tickets, and for any other useful information, see the festival’s website: www.jazzonthefarm. com.
