RUGBY STAR ANNOUNCES BIRTH OF HIS FIRST CHILD

-

GEORGE and Becky North have announced the birth of their first child, a baby boy named Jac.

The couple both revealed the news on social media alongside a cute picture of their newborn, with Wales rugby star North welcoming him to the “pack”.

George, from Anglesey, said: “Hello everyone, please meet Jac North. He is a dude! Welcome to the pack.”

Double Olympic silver medallist Becky also shared an image of their new arrival on Instagram, writing: “Welcome to the world little one. Jac North. My heart is so full.”

The post has received thousands of likes and hundreds of comments, with fans sending the family congratulatory messages.

North’s Ospreys team wished the new parents a huge congratulations, calling it “wonderful news.”

Capped 95 times for Wales, 28-yearold North had recently opened up about the challenges lockdown was causing as they awaited their new arrival.

He said: “It’s been pretty mad, if I’m being honest.

“Not just what we’re going through, what everybody is going through. These are pretty crazy times.

“Obviously, we are a bit nervous in the current climate. I’m sure everybody is nervous but bringing a child into the world in this climate is difficult.

“Lots of our friends are going through it now and to be able to bounce ideas off them is helping. “But it’s pretty scary really.”

The rugby star and two-time world champion track sprinter Becky (nee James) revealed they were expecting their first child together in November, when Becky announced the news by posting a picture from the couple’s honeymoon in the Maldives on Instagram.

The new mum had retired from cycling in 2017 and now runs her own successful cake business, Baked by Becks.

The couple, who live in the Vale of Glamorgan, got engaged over Christmas 2017 and married in the summer of 2019.
