Inquest into A55 death of man struck by HGV opens

A 35-YEAR-OLD who died on the A55 after being hit by a lorry had “multiple injuries”, an inquest has heard.

An inquest into the death of Ciaran Michael Murray, of Station Road, Valley, Anglesey, was opened on Monday in Caernarfon.

Assistant coroner Katie Sutherland said Mr Murray, who was born in Lincolnshi­re, was involved in a collision near Valley on August 6 moments before the tragic incident occurred.

His Vauxhall Corsa had collided with road signage off the sliproad of Junction 3 just before 11pm.

When he got out of the vehicle, he was struck by a HGV.

11.30pm and a provisiona­l cause of death has been listed as multiple injuries.

The investigat­ion into Mr Murray’s death is ongoing therefore the inquest has been adjourned until the investigat­ion has been concluded.

Following his death Mr Murray’s grief-stricken family issued a tribute to him describing him as a “kind and sensitive man” who was “much loved” by his family.

They said: “Ciaran was generous, loving, kind, and sensitive.

“He was a much loved son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend, and he will be deeply missed by everyone whose life he touched.”
