BAKE oFF WINNER LAUNCHES HIS FIRST BOOK
OCTOPUS-SHAPED pizzas, tacos, sushi and veggie rolls are on offer in the debut cookbook from last year’s Great British Bake Off Winner David Atherton.
My First Cook Book: Make, Bake & Learn To Cook is written by David and illustrated by his friend Rachel Stubbs and is priced £14.99 from Walker Books.
David says: “It’s really important to capture kids young, and instead of trying to make it seem like a chore, food’s got to be fun.” He also offers a healthy take on sweet recipes. His super-sweet brownies contain sweet potato, his birthday cake recipe is laced with avocado and he has a caterpillar cake that includes spinach.
David says: “There’s no reason to always use just butter, sugar and eggs when we have amazing vegetables like sweet potato, butternut squash and bananas, that can mimic these things and give you really moist tasty bakes, but be a lot healthier.”
