TWO ON MURDER CHARGE
● Men appear in court over death of Holyhead dad, 58, and woman in custody in connection with investigation:
TWO men appeared in court on Monday charged with murdering an Anglesey dad. Gareth Wyn Jones, 47 of Lon Deg, Holyhead and Stuart Parkin, 38 of Nimrod Walk, Holyhead are accused of killing 58-year-old David John Jones, known as DJ (pictured inset).
Mr Jones died on November 19, two days after suffering extensive head injuries in an attack in the area of Thomas Street and Mount Pleasant.
On Monday, the pair appeared separately before a district judge at Llandudno Magistrates Court.
Both flanked by two security guards and dressed in grey jumpers, they spoke only to confirm their names, addresses and dates of birth.
The men were remanded in custody until yesterday, when they were due to appear at Caernarfon Crown Court after the Mail went to press. Officers have also been granted a warrant of further detention at a special court in Mold in respect of a woman who was arrested and is also being held in connection with the murder investigation. Meanwhile, tributes were paid to Mr Jones by his family.
In a statement, they said: “He was loved by everyone who knew him, being the most kind, loving and caring man.
“He was always there for those who needed him and was the life and soul of our family. We will be forever lost without him.”
