Senedd hopefuls to face farm questions at virtual hustings
BOTH Welsh farming unions and local YFCs are to host virtual Senedd election hustings in north west Wales.
The four events will give members the chance to quiz election hopefuls on agricultural issues.
All candidates in the Ynys Môn, Meirionnydd Dwyfor, Arfon and Aberconwy constituencies have been invited to participate.
Each event will be hosted on the Zoom platform. DATES:
Ynys Môn - Monday, April 19, 7.30pm;
Meirionnydd Dwyfor – Tuesday, April 20, 7.30pm;
Arfon – Thursday, April 22, 7.30pm;
Aberconwy – Tuesday, April 27, 7.30pm.
Members can contact NFU Cymru on 01982 554200 to register and get their meeting link.
In a joint statement, the organisations said: “With agriculture being a devolved responsibility and a series of proposed changes to agricultural policy for the next Senedd, this is an important opportunity for farmers to question their prospective Senedd Members on their vision for the future.
“It’s an opportunity to hone in on Welsh affairs and for our farming members to engage with the candidates on the more local matters that affect their livelihood and community.
“We would encourage members of the farming community to take up this opportunity to pose questions to those that seek to represent them in the next Welsh Parliament.”
