NORTH Wales developer Castle Property Investment Holdings has completed construction of business units at Bryn Cefni Industrial Estate in Llangefni.

The development known as Llangefni Trade Park, off Industrial Estate Road, has already attracted two pre-lets to Screwfix & ToolStation and completed the letting to Concept Spa Ltd.

The £2.3m scheme received over £812,000 grant funding from the Welsh Government’s Property Infrastructure Fund which is supported by the EU, and procured via Sell2Wales.

It was designed and built by R L Davies & Sons and neighbouring occupiers include Lidl, Jewson, ATS and Huws Gray.

Mark Diaper, associate director at Legat Owen, joint agent for the scheme with Williams and Goodwin, said: “We have had strong interest from the outset, securing pre-lets on half of the floorspace and, with the remaining units already under offer, we are confident the scheme will be fully occupied in the coming weeks.”

Vernon Evans, finance director at CPIH said: “We would like to thank Welsh Government for allocating grant funding towards the scheme, enabling us to unlock this site and develop trading units that give local businesses the opportunity to trade alongside leading nationals.

“We will be continuing our successful business strategy that allows us to continue to contribute to the local economy and to grow and diversify accordingly”.

Economy minister Vaughan Gething said: “It’s great news construction of these important business units in Llangefni has been completed.

“They will help companies access the quality space they need, accommodate jobs and be a real boost to the area. I am pleased Welsh Government funding, supported by the EU, has helped make this possible.”

The development comprises a total of 19,123 sq ft (1,776.6 sq m) in eight new trade counter units ranging in size from 1,987 sq ft (184.6 sq m) to approx. 2,500 sq ft (232 sq m).

Screwfix and ToolStation have each taken two units, 4,586 sq ft and 4,771 sq ft respectively and are now open. Concept Spa have taken 2,652 sq ft.

Screwfix was advised by Colliers International and ToolStation was represented by Adept Consultancy.

A MAN has been jailed after driving down the A55 in his Range Rover without a licence.

Thomas Bradley Scott (pictured) was stopped by officers from North Wales Police on the A55 westbound at Abergwyngregyn at around 3pm on Thursday.

The force said the 37-year-old tried to “hoodwink” police, but it was revealed that he was driving without a licence.

Scott, of Lon Y Waen, Menai Bridge, was arrested and taken into custody where it was discovered he was also in breach of Crown Court conditions imposed in Derbyshire earlier this year for driving offences.

He was charged and remanded in custody, and appeared before the court on Friday.

A judge jailed Scott for 23 weeks and disqualified him from driving for 42 months.

Officers from North Wales Police Intercept team shared the news on their Facebook page.

In the post, they said: “Sooooo .... think you get can away driving without a licence? Well, this guy did...but we soon caught up with him.

“He tried his best to hoodwink us but we knew what he was up to.”
