BALA DOWN 10-MAN NOMADS

Connah’s Quay Nomads had a player red carded for the second successive game as they crashed to back-to-back league defeats in the league in a 1-0 loss to Bala.

The champions were beaten 1-0 at Barry Town United last week after having Jon Disney sent off. Back at the Deeside Stadium they lost George Horan for a foul on Dave Edwards.

From the resulting free-kick, Edwards hit it perfectly over the wall and into the back of the net. It was only the 28th minute, but Bala held on to move up to third in the table.

Aberystwyt­h Town enjoyed a 2-1 victory at Newtown. Jamie Veale put Aber ahead in the 37th minute.

David Cotterill paved the way for Callum Roberts to level matters six minutes into the second half before David Evans struck in the 71st minute to win the game for the visitors.

Flint Town United got a shock as Haverfordw­est notched their first win of the season with a 2-0 scoreline. Touray Sisay got the home side going with a 15th minute goal.

Flint were reduced to 10 men six minutes into the second half when Ben Nash was sent-off. Alex Jones followed Nash into the stands for a second yellow in the 75th minute.

Sisay slammed home his second goal of the game six minutes from time.

Bottom side Cefn Druids finished with 10 men in their 3-0 home hammering by Penybont.

Jake Hughes-Hampson was dismissed in the 71st minute for picking up a second yellow card.

Caernarfon Town beat Cardiff Met 2-0 at home thanks to goals from Dan Gosset and Mike Hayes.
