Take plunge to raise funds

-

WAKE up for Wales and take the plunge! Start your St David’s celebrations in support of St David’s Hospice at Porth Eirias!

On Saturday 26th February, ahead of the Wales v England game in the Six Nations later that day, the local charity is asking brave supporters to embrace the elements and make a splash into the sea at Colwyn Bay.

Starting at 10am, entry is only £5 per person and if you fundraise a minimum of £25 you will receive a limited-edition St David’s Hospice Welsh goat toy!

All proceeds from the fundraising event will be supporting the vital work of the hospice for the local community of Conwy, Gwynedd and Anglesey.

It costs approximately £6 million each year to provide outstanding care for the patients and their families. The majority of that total is raised by the local community as a very small percentage of funding is received from the Local Health board and Welsh Government.

Rhian Jacobs, Events Co-ordinator, said: “We want you to show your national pride and celebrate Wales in support of your local hospice.

“The fundraising team are really excited to be back for 2022 and to share this fun, family friendly event with you all.

“There are great prizes on offer for best dressed, best team outfit and first in the water.

“We look forward to seeing you all there!”

Bryn Williams will kindly be offering a hot drink and cake for all participants. The event is also kindly supported by Haia, Môr SUP and Commando X-fit.
