‘If you knew Sean you couldn’t help but like him, he’ll be sorely missed’

FAMILY’S TRIBUTE TO DAD KILLED IN A55 CRASH

- Aaran Lennox

THE heartbroken family of a man killed in a crash on the A55 said he will be remembered for bringing “smiles and laughter” wherever he went.

Sean Brett, 50, from Menai Bridge was one of two people who died in the crash on the dual carriageway in Dobshill in Flintshire on February 26, which involved Sean’s vehicle and an Audi TT travelling the wrong way.

Sean’s devastated family said that whatever the future holds, their aim will remain the same – doing everything possible to make him proud.

In a touching tribute, they said: “When young and living in Nottingham, Sean became a big Nottingham Forest fan and this stayed with him his entire life but in addition to Forest, when the family moved to North Wales, he added Liverpool as one of his teams.

“As a young lad, football was everything to Sean.

“When he got married, he still supported clubs but said his family always came first and always did.

“Sean was having a kick-about one day with his son Noah on the grass by Menai Bridge Primary School when other kids came over and asked if they could join in. This was a major part of the beginning of Menai Bridge Tigers Juniors.

“He then got involved in the Menai Bridge Tigers Seniors, Sean was deeply involved in Menai Bridge football and soon became very successful with the Tigers leading the seniors and juniors to the treble.

“Sean was very proud of his beautiful children, Noah and Hope, he had a lovely wife in Nicky and were a complete loving family, with lots and lots of friends which has been shown through the loving outpour of comments to the news of his passing.”

The family added: “If you knew Sean you couldn’t help but like him, we are sure he will be sorely missed by many. His children have said whatever they do in the future, as they have in the past, they will do everything to make him proud and as a family we know they will.

“The family are absolutely devastated that he should pass in such a manner, but we will all remember the good times, which were endless and he will never be forgotten by family and friends alike.

“Nicola, Noah and Hope will never be without family and friends to support them through and after this traumatic time.

“The family would like to thank everyone for their kind comments and show of support which is much appreciated.”

Last week North Wales Police confirmed the driver of an Audi seen travelling the wrong way on the road also died at the scene.

Witnesses described seeing the Audi come “flying out of a junction” near Broughton, narrowly missing other cars who had to swerve to avoid it.

Sergeant Liam Morris, of the Roads Policing Unit, appealed for witnesses to the crash.

In a statement last week, Sgt Morris said: “I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have dash-cam footage of a red Audi TT driving erratically at around this time.”
