Louska beats off competition to pick up three gongs in event

- By Emily Phillips

A SUCCESSFUL independent eyebrow and eyelash technician has won three top awards in a national competition.

Louska Arnott, 30, of Nanny Marr Road in Darfield was the overall winner for Britain in the ‘Microblading Expert of the Year 2022’ category at The British Hair and Beauty Awards.

The awards were established in 2014 and celebrate those who make a real difference, encouraging their development and hard work throughout the year.

Potential nominees put themselves forward through an online application, Louska said, before a more in-depth application is overseen if they become a finalist.

“I was just excited to be a finalist. It sounds silly, but I didn’t think about it too much because I wasn’t expecting to win, so when I did I was overwhelmed.”

The ceremony took place online on Monday, streaming on YouTube.

Louska, who runs ‘The Louska Beauty Clinic’ in Worsbrough, took home a further two awards – the gold award for Microblading Expert of the Year in Yorkshire, and a bronze award for Skin Specialist of the Year.

Thousands of professionals applied for a chance to win in this year, and Louska was overjoyed at her success.

“After seeing that I was a Gold Winner in Microblading, I almost didn’t watch to the end of the awards announcements, as I

thought there was no way I could be the overall winner for Britain.

“I had a little cry, I just couldn’t believe it. My partner cracked open a bottle of fizz to celebrate.”

With a degree in biomedical sciences, Louska started her business due to her love of lash extensions, becoming certified in lash and brow treatments in 2013, and has been growing her repertoire ever since. I always kind of relate my knowledge from my biomedical sciences degree back to it.

“With lashes, I know about the health side of things, and with face care I have that knowledge too.”
