It’s always easy to spend someone else’s cash
I read with interest the letter regarding the new footbridge over the railway and its cost.
This is not the first time that the council have spent unnecessary money.
I wrote to the council a while ago with regard to the fanciful bollards that have been installed at various points in town to control traffic access to pedestrian areas.
Without doubt they have cost many thousands of pounds, probably hundreds of thousands.
Maybe the council can supply the exact cost?
The point I am making is that standard permanent and fold down bollards could have been used at a fraction of the cost.
Sorry, but this again is a council finding it easy to spend someone else’s money.
