Village has highest burglary rate

GOLDTHORPE residents are more at risk from burglars than any other neighbourhood in Yorkshire.

Shock figures from police neighbourhood crime revealed for every 1,000 residents living in the area, there were around 30 burglaries – the highest rate in Yorkshire, and the second highest in England and Wales. In a list of ten areas most likely to see burglaries, Goldthorpe topped it, with Leeds city centre and central Doncaster and Hyde Park coming in at second and third.
