Owen at famous festival
BARNSLEY youngster Owen Smith has been playing for the North of England under 15s in the prestigious Bunbury Festival this week.
The competition is for the best under 15s in the country and has been previously attended by almost 100 future England internationals such as Jimmy
Anderson, Joe Root and Ben Stokes.
Owen, who is from Thurcroft has also represented Yorkshire, scored 59 in a match on Monday. Barnsley captain Jason Booth said: “Owen has played for us since under nines. We’re really proud of him. He’s a special cricketer as we will find out in years to come.”
