-

BOROUGH of Barnsley’s Eleanor Valentine-Bull took part in the British Summer Championships, where the top 24 from each age group in the country compete.

Eleanor swam in the 50m and 100m breaststroke.

She is also one of five Barnsley swimmers set to compete in the English Summer Nationals from today until Tuesday.

Louis Ennis will compete in the 50m freestyle and 50m backstroke.

Oliver Austin swims the 200m breaststroke, Cody Ingram competes in the 50m, 100m and 200m butterfly and Daniel Menzer completes the group in the 800m freestyle.

Head coach Carly Herbert said: “It‘s great to have so many swimmers competing across both British and English national competitions, the most we have ever had. This is testament to the work put in by the squad during the qualifying window from March to May.

“It’s a great building block with more potential entries in 2023.”

The races can be watched on the Swim England website.
