Sad loss of a great guy

I was sad to hear of the passing of the comedian Duggie Brown. I had him as my main speaker at my mayoral banquet – he was absolutely fantastic, everybody thought so, all our sides ached we laughed so much.

I broke the mould with not using a political speaker. Following mayors followed with comedians and what a refreshing change, especially for our partners and guests. He was so friendly – no pomposity at all – and a great guy.
