Houses planned for bakery site
PLANS to demolish a Worsbrough Bridge bakery and replace it with 13 new properties have been approved by the council’s planning board.
The application is to demolish all the current buildings on the A and E White Bakers site, which is based on Charles Street.
Five blocks of semi-detached dwellings and one row of three town houses will then be built in the area.
Plans to demolish the bakery and replace it with 23 properties were rejected by the council’s planning board back in 2014 but new plans have been earmarked for approval, subject to a Section 106 agreement, the company relocation to another site within the borough and a sustainable travel contribution.
A report added: “Taking into account the relevant development plan policies and other material considerations, it is considered that there are not any significant and demonstrable adverse impacts that would outweigh the benefits associated with the granting of planning permission.”
