Achievements to be celebrated

A SPECIAL ceremony celebrating the success of Barnsley’s Healthy Holidays programme will take place next week.

Held at Elsecar Heritage Centre between 12pm and 4pm on Thursday, the event will mark the highlights of the summer scheme.

Coun Caroline Makinson, cabinet spokesperson for public health and communities, said: “Families from right across the borough have taken part in this summer’s Healthy Holidays programme.

“As well as having access to nutritious food there has also been lots of activities on offer to keep young people fit and active.

“Healthy Holidays will be returning in October and there will be lots of information available about how to take part.”
