Tanning salon could be moving in to Hoyland
HOYLAND town centre could be home to a new tanning salon if Barnsley Council’s planning board approve submitted plans.
A planning application was submitted to change the use of a hairdressers on Clough Fields Road into a tanning salon.
The applicant, Anna Trickett, said in an accompanying letter the business could yield extra growth for other firms in the area.
She said: “In relation to the issue of vehicle parking, there is space for approximately 40 vehicles and any customers parking there would not encroach on anyone else’s business/residence. Customers visiting the other units along The Parade use the parking at the rear of the block, and there is still plenty of spaces available. I intend to work full-time in my salon and my husband will work part-time. There may be scope further along the line to employ another member of staff, depending on business.
“My initial hours of opening will be Monday to Saturday varying between the hours 9am and 7pm. The business will not attract rowdy behaviour and will possibly enhance trading for the other units due to increased footfall. I am hoping that my planning application will meet your approval as it will bring a desirable service to the residents nearby, and from other areas, and will increase trading to other units.”
