Hosting job for Bard of Barnsley

THE Bard of Barnsley, Ian McMillan, is hosting this year’s Ilkley Literature Festival.

The poet, playwright, journalist and broadcaster from Darfield will be opening the event on October 7.

Ian will be talking about his new book, My Sand Life, My Pebble Life: A Memoir of a Childhood and the Sea.

He will also be mentoring the

2022 apprentice poets in residence, Rebecca Green and Sara-Clare Conlon. The festival will run until October 23.
