Volunteers get busy at school
A GROUP of volunteers got stuck into a day’s work at Hoylandswaine Primary School last month.
The school was looking to modernise its classrooms, and reached out to Barratt and David Wilson Homes to help. Five volunteers gave a helping hand to give the school a glow up by painting the year one and year two classrooms.
Ian Goddard, headteacher at the school, said: “We are so grateful that they have been able to help us decorate, the children will be so excited when they come back to see their rooms looking better than ever.
“This has also meant that the money we have saved in paint can now be used to buy more resources for the school.”
As well as helping with the painting, the volunteers also supplied the paint and equipment.
Gary Chambers, managing director of the firm, added: “As a leading housebuilder we strive to support the communities in and around the areas in which we build and were delighted to be able to help the school with its redecorating.
“We know how important the classroom environment is for learning, and we hope the staff and pupils at the school enjoy the newly decorated rooms.”
