Celebrations for the jubilee continuing

BARNSLEY East MP Stephanie Peacock toasted the Queen at two care homes’ belated Platinum Jubilee celebrations last week.

Residents at Greno View and Hillcrest – both in Hoyland – came together to mark the Queen’s landmark anniversary. The Queen was celebrated at multiple events across the town in June, but care homes have faced delays in doing so due to reasons including Covid-19 so are holding them as and when they are able to. Attendees held themed activities and enjoyed an afternoon tea.

Mayor of Barnsley, Coun Sarah Tattersall, also attended the event.

Stephanie said: “I was really pleased to have attended the belated Jubilee party for Greno View and Hillcrest residents in Hoyland.

“Thank you very much to the organisers for facilitating this event for our community.”
