Darton boost survival chances with victory

DARTON kept their survival chances alive with victory at home to Hooton Pagnell in Division One.

Second-bottom Darton are now 20 points behind third-bottom Hooton with three games left. Darton made 146 then bowled their opponents out for 103 with Jordan Hunter taking four wickets and Sam Hawley three.

West Bretton fell 69 runs short chasing 297 at Hundhill Hall, despite John Ashton hitting 92 with 15 fours.

Division Three leaders Stainborou­gh dismissed Notton for 56 in an eight-wicket win.

Notton were nine for five then 20 for eight, with Josh Abson taking five wickets and Lewis Shepherd three.

Stainborou­gh are 12 points clear at the top and 17 clear in the promotion places with three games left.

Thurnscoe Institute were removed for 196 in a four-wicket loss to Streethous­e. Jake Whitehurst made 53.

Ryhill and Havercroft dismissed hosts Horbury Bridge 2nd XI for 114 in a nine-wicket win. John Tod took six wickets then Stephen Biddulph made 69 not out.

Darton 2nd XI chased 114 for a three-wicket win over Sykehouse.

James Lowe took five for 36.
