Women stay top with two derby victories Barnsley and Leeds charged after cup tie U21s host Addicks after u18s win 2-0

BARNSLEY Women’s FC continued their excellent start to the season with two Yorkshire derby victories.

They enjoyed a 2-0 home win over Leeds United on Sunday. Emily Pierrepont and Courteney Csomor scored in the first ten minutes.

The Reds then won 1-0 at Bradford City on Wednesday. Nat Shaw scored seconds after half-time.

They are top of National League Division One North, with three wins from three, and have not conceded.

Barnsley now host Durham Cestria on Sunday from 2pm.

BARNSLEY and Leeds United have been charged by the FA for failing to control their players during their EFL Cup tie at Elland Road.

The charge relates to an incident in the 67th minute when both sets of players clashed. Barnsley’s Liam Kitching was booked along with two home players.

BARNSLEY under 21s host Charlton Athletic today from 2pm.

Barnsley under 18s won 2-0 at home to Bristol City. Fabio Jalo and Theo Chapman scored.
