-

playwright is set to perform at The Civic next month. Nana-Kofi-Kufuor, best known for Kofi, from Stockport, will be returning this year for a second national tour.

Finding it hard to establish a writing career, he entered a competition with BBC One Extra where his submission was made into one of two short films played on the channel’s social media outlets. His most recent play, ‘My

Voice Was Heard But It Was Ignored’, was performed at The Push Festival back in 2020 in Manchester, where he reflected on his parents’ view of the UK and how it differs from his own. The Red Ladder Theatre Company, acknowledged as one of Britain’s leading national touring companies, will be presenting the play at The Civic in Barnsley on Saturday, October 1.
