Appeal for babies to help research

BARNSLEY Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has asked residents to see if their baby may be eligible for a clinical research study.

The Harmonie study is enrolling newborn babies to 12 months old.

A hospital spokesperson said: “This study is looking at how strongly babies can be protected from serious illness due to RSV infection (respiratory syncytial virus), and further assess the impact on hospitalisations.

“The study will include as many as 28,860 babies, from newborns to babies 12 months old.
