New home rejected on safety grounds
PLANS to build a house in Thurnscoe have been rejected by the council’s planning board.
An application was originally submitted to build the property, along with a new garage, on Holly Bush Drive.
The planning board refused these plans last week.
A report said: “In the opinion of the local planning authority, the development proposed would involve the use of a sub-standard, unadopted rear service road which is narrow and has restricted forward visibility at bends along its length and also forms part of the public footpath network.
“The increased vehicular use of this service road would be likely to result in increased conflict between vehicles and pedestrians which would be materially detrimental to the safety of users of the highway.”
