Open days arranged

THERE will be a series of free open days across Barnsley this month in celebration of September being heritage month.

Each year, thousands of volunteers across the country invite their communities to experience local history, culture and architecture for free.

This year, the heritage open days will run from today, until Sunday, September 18.

Events taking place include a day of exploring Wentworth Castle Gardens and exploring the history and heritage of the Victorian Hemingfield Colliery.
