Grove takes six wickets as Notton win to avoid relegation

JOE GROVE took six for 14 as Notton dismissed hosts Newton Hill for 104 in a seven-wicket Division Three win.

Perry Atolia took three wickets for Notton who have avoided relegation.

Thurnscoe Institute won by five wickets against Bullcroft Main.

Michael Harvey took five wickets and Ashley Newton three to bowl Bullcroft out for 192.

Thurnscoe were 62 for four but Dean Hazlewood made 65 not out and Don Whitehurst 54 in a stand of 102.

Stainborou­gh’s match was abandoned so they remain top by nine points and 16 points clear in the two promotion places with two games remaining.

West Bretton were dismissed for 168 in a six-wicket loss to Streethous­e in Division One.

David Hoyle was run-out for 55. Darton were skittled for 42 in a seven-wicket loss to Frickley. Darton are bottom of the league and 21 points from safety with two games left so one more defeat would confirm relegation.

Ryhill and Havercroft were restricted to 111 in a six-wicket loss to Hundhill Hall in Division Six.

Gary Carter took three for 12 off his 12 overs.
