IT’S BEEN a fantastic start with 17 points from seven games and five wins in a row.

They left their transfer business until quite late in the window which agitated some supporters, but they have brought in 12 players and a lot of them have made a big impact already.

There is a lot of belief and optimism in the side at the moment. But there is a very tough month to come, starting with the trip to Barnsley then there are games against Bolton, Plymouth and Ipswich.

That will give us a much better idea of where they are.

Danny Cowley is into his second full season as Pompey manager and he is expected to mount a promotion challenge.
