Work goes on to repair memorial
BARNSLEY Museums and Heritage Trust are continuing to raise money to restore a town centre war memorial.
They are fundraising to repair the ‘Light Lines’ artwork which was dedicated to the Barnsley PALS who were lost at the Battle of Somme.
The artwork features three Barnsley brothers – Fred, Charles, and Ernest Walker – who died in action during the battle.
Barnsley Museums and Heritage Trust are urging people to donate to allow the artwork to be restored.
