Mechanic Rachel hopes to rev women up
A MONK Bretton car mechanic has made it to the final of Miss England – and she’s looking to inspire women to do anything they put their minds to.
Rachel Himsworth, 25, has worked as a car mechanic since she left school.
When the opportunity arose to enter herself into this year’s Miss England competition, she saw it as a chance to empower and inspire other women.
“I started as a car mechanic from school and I did voluntary work experience.
“I now work at a Ford dealership – I’ve been doing this for nine or ten years.
“I’ve managed to get in the finals of the Miss England competition but it’s come completely out of the blue.
“I just want to encourage women and show them they can do anything they put their minds to.”
