MP pledges to take concerns of businesses to government

-

PENISTONE and Stocksbridge MP Miriam Cates spoke to local business owners in Dodworth last weekend.

She visited High Street on Saturday and spoke to businesses about the cost-of-living crisis and soaring energy bills.

She said: “It was good to meet the owners of expert cobblers HE Payne and Sons, a family business that’s been trading for nearly 100 years and is the oldest suppliers of Tricker’s shoes and boots in the UK.

“They also repair high-end designer shoes from all over the world and sell a wide range of footwear and accessories.

“I also chatted to David who owns the fantastic Locked In Time antiques shop and tea room.

“We discussed the current challenges faced by small businesses following the pandemic, with inflation and energy prices of significant concern.

“As a local MP, it’s my job to feed concerns and suggestions back to my colleagues in government, and I’ll be speaking to ministers over the coming days about issues that were raised with me.”
