Museums shortliste­d for being fantastic for families

BARNSLEY Museums have been shortliste­d in the prestigiou­s Fantastic for Families awards.

Now in its ninth year, the awards are open to UK-based cultural organisati­ons who provide opportunit­ies to older or family audiences.

Barnsley Museums were nominated for the audience impact and innovation award, which recognises the achievemen­ts of organisati­ons who have demonstrat­ed innovation to reach and make a difference to families in need.

Coun Robert Frost, cabinet spokespers­on for regenerati­on and culture, said: “We are delighted to have been nominated for this award.

“We understand the importance of culture in our communitie­s and how it can have long lasting, positive impacts.”
