Boundary changes

RESIDENTS can have their say on proposals to move an area of Barnsley Council’s land into Sheffield City Council’s jurisdiction.

The Oughtibridge Mill development, which consists of 284 properties, lies in the south of the Barnsley Council area.

It crosses the border between the town and Sheffield.

Road connections mean the development will be more associated with Sheffield than it will be with Barnsley.

A proposal has therefore been put forward to propose the development is moved from the Penistone East ward to the Stocksbridge and Upper Don ward.

The Secretary of State may also move the development from Wortley to Bradfield in Sheffield.
