Fly-tipping reported to authorities

-

POLICE are being urged to act after villagers recorded a woman fly-tipping.

CCTV footage shows the woman emptying her car, full of rubbish, at Mapplewell and Staincross Village Hall at about 7.45pm on Monday night.

Those who work at the village hall are ‘appalled’ by the woman’s actions.

A spokesperson said: “The bins cost £150 per month to have emptied – that’s money that comes straight out of the charity.

“Obviously, whoever it was decided to watch the whole of the Queen’s funeral, and have tea, before loading up the car, and venturing out.”

Those based at the village hall wish to remind people that fly-tipping is a criminal offence, and can be punishable with a fine of up to £50,000, or 12 months’ imprisonment. The incident has been reported to the local authorities.
