Support for parents-to-be

-

BARNSLEY Council will support parents-to-be to look after their mental health and wellbeing.

The council is backing the NSPCC’s Pregnancy In Mind programme which offers support to parents with their emotional wellbeing, to help build a positive bond with their baby.

PIM is a four-week programme focused on mindfulness, relaxation, coping strategies and boosting moods.

Mums-to-be, dads-to-be and partners are all welcome.

Coun Caroline Makinson said: “We want everyone in Barnsley to live in good physical and mental health, and this starts right from birth throughout your whole life.

“If you or your partner are pregnant and want support for your mental health, please reach out and take part in this programme.

“It’s free, easy, supportive and can make all the difference to you and your baby’s health and wellbeing.”

?? ?? GRATEFUL: Barnsley Central MP Dan Jarvis will run the London Marathon on Sunday for Cancer Research UK. He said: “I’ve just been told the terrible news that a close friend has been diagnosed with stage three cancer.
I will be thinking about them, and all who live in the shadow of cancer on Sunday, when I run the TCS London Marathon for Cancer Research UK. I know times are tough, but any support would be very gratefully received. A link to Dan’s fundraiser can be found on his Facebook page.
