Trevor breaks Birdwell Wheelers record
BIRDWELL Wheeler Trevor Mayne broke a club record at the Cleveland Coureurs’ 25-mile open time-trial.
The event, which was postponed from earlier in the year due to bad weather, saw Adam Duggleby – who has won Paralympic gold as a sighted guide for a blind cyclist – win in 47-47.
It took place on an out and back course on the A19 to Knayton, Teeside.
Mayne was 13th out of 42 finishers in a time of 56-48 which set a new club age record at 59 years old. He also placed eighth of 27 on age handicap.
