Slimming World

At the group session held last Wednesday in the Methodist church. Slimmers of the week were Megan Haims and Yvonne McLoughlin. A half stone award was presented to Jill Wood and stone award to Rachel Smith. Slimmer for the month of September was Abby Kitchen. St Michael’s Church

Rev Harry Steele Chaplain to the Bishop of Sheffield conducted the 9am service of Holy Communion on Sunday at St Michael’s and

All Angels Church. Lesson reader was Peter Robinson, intercessions Olive Shaw and music was taped. The knit and natter group meet this coming Tuesday from 1pm to 3pm. On Thursday the church is open from 11am to noon for private prayer. The next service of Holy Communion is on Sunday October 16 at 9am conducted by Rev Fiona Kouble.

At Great and Little Houghton TARA bingo session held on Friday in the Welfare Hall winner of the Joe Ninety was Julie Little winning £70 and winner of Diane’s Raffle was Lorraine Fisher winning £10. Football card winner with Blackburn Rovers FC was Amber Devoy winning £15.

Methodist Church

On Sunday the 10.30am service was led by Maureen Roebuck. Bible reading was by Janice Parkin and music was arranged by David Shone. The friendship group met on Tuesday morning, Art group Wednesday afternoon and coffee morning was held yesterday from 10am. This coming Sunday the 10.30am service will be led by Ray Taylor.
