Services

There will be a harvest festival service at St Peter’s Tankersley at 9.30am on Sunday. All food donations will be distribute­d amongst worthy causes. Donations of dry or tinned food and any other useful commoditie­s such as toiletries should be delivered to the church on the day of the service. There will also be a harvest service at 4pm at St Paul’s, Pilley.

Afternoon Tea

This continues as normal at 1pm on Tuesday afternoons. Everyone welcome.

Bonfire and firework display

This has been confirmed to be held on November 5. Admission is free and refreshmen­ts and licensed bar will be available.

Age UK Healthy Living

Sessions for the over 50s are held between 10am and 12pm on Wednesday mornings in the Welfare Hall of The Hub. Activities include armchair exercise and healthy eating. Contact Karen Dennis on 01226 776820 for more details.

Tankersley Welfare Hall

The venue has now been rebranded as ‘Tankersley Hub’ with the launch of a website – visit www.tankersley­hub.com – for hiring and contact details and a calendar of upcoming events. Details of future events will be publicised.

Little City Kids

The group will be holding an event for children in The Hub on Monday at 9.30am. Contact Amy on 07581 794451 to book a place.

Tankersley Community Green

The former bowling green is now being managed by Tankersley Community Associatio­n and is available to hire for outdoor events. Details are available from the Secretary.

Byegone Bikes Yorkshire

The group will be holding a sale of vintage cycles and accessorie­s in The Hub on Sunday. Doors open at 9am. Everyone’s welcome to view some interestin­g memorabili­a – refreshmen­ts available.

Halloween Children’s Party

The event on October 29 is now sold out. Sadly, due to capacity restrictio­ns imposed by fire regulation­s, no-one can be allowed in without a wristband.

The Hub Tuck Shop

The shop is now open on weekends only following the end of the school summer holidays. Refreshmen­ts available for all to enjoy. The newly refurbishe­d conservato­ry will be open to provide shelter in the event of inclement weather. Card payments are now accepted. Opening times will be 1pm while 4pm, weather permitting.
