Platinum award win for school
A WOMBWELL primary school has gained the highest accolade possible for its PE provision.
High View Primary Learning Centre, based on Newsome Avenue, received the platinum award in the government-led School Games scheme.
Paul Crossley, the school’s PE co-ordinator, told the Chronicle: “The award recognises everything we do in sport – inside and outside of school.
“Every year you have to reapply and it goes from bronze to platinum – we were given the highest accolade.
“We’re hoping to keep up the standard next year – not every school gets this.
“We’re really proud to be a part of it.
“We’ve got really enthusiastic children who made this happen.”
