Once Matt Taylor revealed he had been offered the Rotherham United job at the end of an interview last Saturday, we all knew that he was off.

It’s been a weird season as City have barely faced any of the top sides so far – Barnsley probably the first of them. So, while sitting nicely in mid-table, it’s hard to know where Exeter quite lie in the pecking order. The squad is very short and stretched at the moment and I think they’d take a point now if offered one.
